How To Naturally Increase The Appetite

A decrease in appetite can be a dangerous situation because it hinders the function of the immune system and causes the body to lack nutrients it needs to function in a healthy way. Now we all have times that we just don't feel like eating, but if it's a regular problem, you want to be sure you do something about it.
What could cause a decrease in appetite?

*Cancer
*Serious Infections
*Diseases
*Stress
*Anxiety

Here are some ideas to naturally increase the appetite:

*Alfalfa is a green food that is a very nutritious appetite stimulant.  I add this to my tea mixtures that we drink on a regular basis because it is extremely rich in vitamins and minerals, it has 8 essential amino acids and the highest chlorophyll content of any plant.  Click here to buy alfalfa.
*Green Tea is good to drink half an hour before you eat to stimulate the appetite.  Green tea is another herb that I add on a regular basis to my mixture of teas.  Studies have shown it to fight and help prevent cancer, and it decreases the risk of tooth decay.  Click here for green tea.
*Chamomile is another herb that can stimulate the appetite, especially if the decrease of appetite is from stress or anxiety.  Chamomile settles the stomach and calms the nerves.  It also aids in digestion and expels gas.  This herb is good for any age, and is especially used for babies.  Click here for the whole flowers and here for the powder form.  The flowers are good to make a tea from, and the powder can be put into capsules or sprinkled in food.

~All 3 of these above herbs can be taken freely and as much as you wish, for children and adults!

Here are a couple of natural products that have been created for children that you may be interested in:

I hope these natural remedies can help you avoid taking medication if you suffer from a loss of appetite.  These herbs and products will benefit you in many other healthy ways too!

  2. Hey Monica! Colds are miserable and are best to tackle them at the beginning before they get a hold on you. Here's some things I recommend just off the top of my head - I'll have to do a post on this soon!
    Echinacea
    Silver Biotics
Chicken Broth from a whole chicken that you've cooked (fresh)
Good vitamin C - (Not the candy stuff at Wal-Mart :))
    Eliminate sugar until better
Find sore spots on hands and feet and rub and press the spots (reflexology - I'll have to post on this too :))
    Fresh garlic or garlic capsules
    Thanks for the question! :)
